Shandaken SPDES Semi-Annual Meeting

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) is pleased to announce that the next semi-annual public meeting, held per the Shandaken SPDES permit, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013, at the Schoharie Watershed Office, 6049 Main Street, Tannersville NY. NYC DEP will discuss the progress of activities conducted pursuant to the SPDES permit.

The meeting is open to the public and public input is welcome.

Negative Declaration

Albany County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Partridge Run Wildlife Management Area, Stand B-45, Wildlife Clearcut will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a harvest which will remove 51 acres of the existing overstory on Stand B-45 on the Partridge Run Wildlife Management Area (WMA). The area consists of over mature Scotch pine and spruce. This action will allow natural regeneration to provide a food source and cover for numerous wildlife species which will create and enhance wildlife habitat. The harvest area is located in the Partridge Run Wildlife Management Area, Stand B-45 in the Town of Berne, New York, to the west of Beaver Road, north of Bradt Hollow Road.

Rensselaer County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Vincent Mine will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the removal of sand and gravel from a 10 acre life of mine, within an 87 acre parcel. The project is located at 2671 Plank Rd (CR 40) in the Town of Berlin, New York.
