The Department has prepared a draft permit and has made a tentative determination to issue a modified Air State Facility permit to install a new 800 hp natural gas-fired boiler system (replacing an existing 800 hp No. 6 fuel oil-fired boiler) and to retrofit an existing 1,000 hp No. 6 fuel oil-fired boiler to operate on either natural gas under primary operations or No. 6 fuel oil as a backup fuel source at the Agri-Mark Inc Chateaugay Plant.

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

The project is located to the east of Pilot Knob Road, 0.4 mile south of Echo Bay Lane, in the Lake George watershed. DEC proposes issuing three separate permits, one for each lot. The draft permits are available for review, including this application for Lot 1: proposed driveway improvements and stormwater management practices.
