Negative Declaration

Allegany County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Mapes Road Gravel Mine will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the proposed 27.4 acres within the planned 31.3 acre Life of Mine Limits. The total property is 151 acres. A new haul road is also proposed to be constructed to provide access to Mapes Road. The mining operation will not have a wash plant and will be a surface unconsolidated mine for the extraction of sand and gravel. The reclamation objective is agricultural land and non-agricultural meadow. The project is located south of the residence at 1055 Mapes Road in the Town of Willing, New York.

Cattaraugus County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Wesley Gravel Pit will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a modification to expand the existing permitted mine by 4.35 acres and create a pond. The project is located south of County Road 57, between NYS Route 353 and Wolf Road, north of Fly Brook in the Town of Dayton, New York.
