Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Town of Brookhaven Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Middle Country Meadows Change of Zone will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal in which the applicant received a Change of Zone from J Neighbor Business 2 and A Residential 1 to Planned Retirement Community. The applicant is to construct 124 age restricted units. Twenty five (25), one bedroom units will be designated as "affordable," ninety nine units (99) will be two bedrooms and sold as market rate. Accessory structures will also be built. The project is located 247 feet east of Marshall Drive, north side of Middle Country Road in Selden, Town of Brookhaven.

Suffolk County - The Town of Huntington Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed DeForest-Williams Estates will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the subdivision of the 42.02 acre DeForest-William property into five lots. Three lots (#3, 4 and 5) contain existing residences, thus the plan will establish individual parcels for those uses, and two lots are to be acquired for preservation purposes. A 4.01 acre parcel (lot 1) is to be acquired by the North Shore Land Alliance, a private land trust. A 27.18 acre parcel (lot 2) is to be purchased by the Town, County of Suffolk, and North Shore Land Alliance as passive parkland. A 0.21 acre right-of-way parcel will be deeded to the Town of Huntington consistent with the filed map of Williams Plat. The project is located on the easterly side of Shore Road in Cold Spring Harbor, Town of Huntington, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Suffolk County - The Town of Islip Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Serota Islip, LLC - Islip Mixed Use Planned Development District. The Final EIS is available from the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Islip and on line at:www.townofislip-ny.gov.

The action involves a change of zone from Industrial 1 District and Industrial Corridor District to a newly created Islip Mixed-Use Planned Development District in order to permit the construction of: Industrial/Research & Development (R&D)/Office, 818,130 square foot; Flex Office in Mixed Use Buildings, 302,820 square foot; Commercial Services, 61,300 square foot [comprised of: Entertainment/Hospitality, 190,800 square foot; Cinema, 60,000 square foot; Restaurants, 30,800 square foot; and Hotel - 100,000 square foot; (200 rooms)]; Retail, 339,700 square foot; Residential, 350 units (with Workforce component), 402,774 square foot; Civic, 21,154 square foot; plus a 30,000 square foot open market place, and six athletic fields and a "great lawn". The project is located on 135.74 ± acres on the north side of Sunrise Highway, east of Veterans Memorial Highway in the Town of Islip, New York.
