Project Title: Draft Amendment to the Kaaterskill Wild Forest Unit Management Plan

Project Description: This amendment proposes to formally designate 0.6 miles of abandoned rail bed within the Kaaterskill Wild Forest as a multiple-use trail. Also proposed is the formal adoption of an additional 0.4 miles of multiple-use trail on an abandoned town road and existing informal trail, and the construction of a new bridge over Spruce Creek to connect the new trails to an existing trail system. In all, one mile of newly designated trails in Kaaterskill Wild Forest are proposed for multiple-use, open to non-motorized recreation such as hiking, running, bicycling, snow-shoeing, and cross-country skiing.
