Project Description:

The villages of Deferiet and Herrings are beginning a joint water supply project to improve the water mains, storage tanks, and water treatment buildings of the villages' water supply system. The aged infrastructure must be improved to meet the required minimum water pressure and to replace the end of life storage tanks. A new 2700 foot 10 inch transmission main will be installed between Deferiet and Herrings to allow the sharing of water between villages.

Project Description:

The Village of Clayville, as the applicant, proposes to place additional stone cover on top of existing material that protects an exposed water main in Sauquoit Creek. The water main crosses the creek just upstream of the covered foot bridge located northwest of the Dewing and Main Street intersection. Additional man seized stone will be placed over areas where loss of existing cover has exposed the main.

In addition the Village proposes to stabilize a 125 foot section of stream bank upstream of the municipal water supply pump house which is located just south of the Village of Clayville/Town of Paris municipal boundary and east of Oneida Street. The bank protection will be a combination of buried root wads and placement of rip-rap.
