Project Description:

The applicant proposes to add a screening plant to process sand on an existing 8.5 acre life of mine sand and gravel mine. The screening plant would be located approximately 1600' from the nearest dwelling. The proposed hours of operations are Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm, no screening activities will occur on Saturday, and no holiday hours. The mine is located in the Town of Westville on State Route 37 approximatly 0.5 miles south of Bruso Road.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, in cooperation with the Village of Round Lake, proposes to construct a public boat launch on the west side of Round Lake, approximately 0.3 miles south of George Avenue at the existing unimproved access site. The proposed activity involves the construction of a paved parking area, informational kiosk, launch ramp and floating docks.

A Freshwater Wetlands permit is requested for the disturbance of approximately 385 sq. ft. of state regulated freshwater wetland R-14. Section 401 Water Quality Certification is requested for impacts to waters of the United States totaling approximately 6,818 sq. ft.
