Project Description:

The applicant proposes to install a new docking facility consisting of 40 floating 4'x20' docks with a 80 boat capacity on the Great Chazy River . The project location is along 1,040 feet of riverbank approximately 2 miles upstream of Kings Bay on Lake Champlain. They propose to install 54 1'x3'x3' concrete anchors in the river to secure the docking facility. The anchors would result in 18 cubic yards of fill below the mean high water level. A 0.7 acre gravel parking area and a stone block boat ramp are also proposed to be constructed above mean high water level.

SEQR Lead Agency: Ballston Town Planning Board

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Based on the information provided in cultural resources survey reports for this project, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has determined that the proposed activity will have an impact on registered or eligible archaeological sites or historic structures. Measures have been undertaken in consultation with OPRHP to avoid or mitigate impacts to registered or eligible resources. These agreed upon measures conclude the SHPA review.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
