Project Description:
Applicant proposes to repair/replace 337 linear feet of timber breakwall and large rip rap. A layer of large cobble over a layer of small cobble will be installed to prevent further erosion of the shoreline on the northeastern tip of Shelter Island and will involve using 35 cubic yards of stone. In addition, in a 40 square foot- area of erosion along the southern and southeastern shorelines, small pockets of holes will be filled with small stones and 16-inch diameter biodegradable Coir Logs and layered with organic soil and native plants.

Project Description:
This agency has made a tentative determination to modify an existing permit at the request of the applicant for the discharge of 0.080 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated wastewater to the Oswegatchie River from the Town of Gouverneur's Sewer District #1 Sewage Treatment Plant. The Facility is located in the Town of Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County.
The modification replaces an existing Schedule of Compliance for the design and installation of a new disinfection system with a new Schedule of Compliance for the closure of the facility.
