Project Description:

The applicant proposes to rehabilitate elements of the scour protection of the Marine Parkway - Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge over Rockaway Inlet. The proposed work includes rehabilitation of scour protection with a combination of rip-rap and concrete armor, rehabilitation and replacement of damaged bridge bridge pier protection steel plates, rehabilitation of unsound concrete on all substructure elements, minor concrete and electrical repairs on north and south bridge abutments and removal of abandon construction materials around the piers and channel bottom.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is not subject to SEQR because it is a Type II action.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

A Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form has been completed. The proposed activity will not impact on registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.

Coastal Management:

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
