The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application from Covanta Niagara, L.P. for a site known as the Covanta Niagara Rail-to-Truck Intermodal Facility, site ID #C932160. This site is located at 137 47th Street and 4721 Niagara Falls Boulevard in the City of Niagara Falls, Niagara County. If approved, this project will start at the remediation stage. Please note the application package includes a Draft Remedial Investigation Report and Draft Remedial Work Plan which describes how contamination related to the site will be addressed. The Final Remedial Work Plan implements the decision document for the remedy selection process for the site. Comments regarding this application must be submitted no later than March 2, 2013. Erie County - The Town of Evans Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Sturgeon Point Bluffs Improvements will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves improvements to the Sturgeon Point Bluffs to include an access road, parking area, trails, picnic areas and conservation areas. The project is located on Sturgeon Point Road in the Town of Evans, New York.
