ENB - Region 3 Notices 12/12/2012

Notice of Acceptance of Final GEIS

Westchester County - The Village of Port Chester Board of Trustees, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Draft Comprehensive Plan and Related Zoning Amendments. The Final GEIS is available from the Port Chester/Rye Brook Library, the Village of Port Chester Clerk's Office and on line at: http://www.portchesterny.com/Pages/PortChesterNY_Webdocs/plan.

The action involves the adoption of the proposed 2012 Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Map and Text Amendments by the Village of Port Chester Board of Trustees. The Plan provides a blueprint of the Village's planning strategies and actions that are proposed for implementation in the Village of Port Chester. As stated in the Plan, the Village's vision involves retaining the qualities of Port Chester that its residents have come to cherish, including a diverse cultural population, quality homes at relatively affordable prices, a vibrant downtown and its proximity to key employment centers in the region. At the same time, the vision addresses the challenges confronting the Village, including changing socio-economic conditions, unpredictable growth and development patterns, physical constraints limiting waterfront access and underutilized non-residential properties. The project is located throughout the Village of Port Chester, New York.
