Project Description:

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to stabilize an eroding shoreline by placing a row of 500 to 1000 pound boulders, 25 cubic yards of sand and plantings on the landward side of an existing non-functional bulkhead that will be cut to 6 inches below high water. High water is located landward of the bulkhead. The project will result in the placement of fill in an approximately 1300 square foot area of tidal wetlands known as shoals and mudflats/littoral zone (SM/LZ). The applicant also proposes to remove the remains of an existing dock and bulkhead returns and install a new catwalk, ramp and float. The project is located at 352 Dune Road, Westhampton Beach, Town Southampton, Suffolk County, SCTM # 0905-18-1-8.
