The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application from 98 Ridge Road, LLC for a site known as the 98 Ridge Road Site, site ID #C915269. This site is located at 98 Ridge Road in the City of Lackawanna, Erie County. Comments regarding this application must be submitted no later than January 4, 2013. Negative Declaration

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Live Work & Traditional Neighborhood Business Districts will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the creation of two new zoning districts as follows:

  • Live Work One District (LW-1) - The purpose of this district is to permit existing non-conforming residences in a mixed-use area of the Town to continue while allowing limited commercial development that maintains a residential appearance and scale. A total 25 parcels encompassing 3.591 ± acres are proposed to be rezoned from Office Building (OB), General Business (GB) and Neighborhood Business (NB) districts to LW-1.
  • Traditional Neighborhood District Three (TNB-3) Overlay - The purpose of this district is to encourage the development and redevelopment of mixed-use areas that promote pedestrian-oriented neighborhoods and encourage walkability. A total 39 parcels encompassing 8.729 ± acres are proposed to be rezoned from General Business (GB) and Motor Service (MS) to Traditional Neighborhood District Three (GB-TNB-3 & MS-TNB-3).

    The project is located in the West Eggertsville area of the Town of Amherst, New York.

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Town Purchase of Real Property will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the purchase by the Town of Amherst of real property that measures 4.53 ± acres and is is surrounded by the Town's Nature View Park. The property is vacant and has no frontage. The entire site is designated as State or federal wetlands. The project is located at 3365 Sweet Home Road, on the east side of Sweet Home Road, 1,700 ± ft. south of Tonawanda Creek Road in the Town of Amherst, New York.

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Site Plan for Jewish Community Center Day Camp will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the a proposed day camp which will include multiple shelters, playing fields, multi-use court, amphitheater, archery range, ropes course, climbing wall, campground area, and camp office with restrooms. The day camp area will be situated to the northwest of the existing Jewish Community Center building and west of the Weinberg Campus. An access road is proposed to connect the day camp with the Weinberg Campus. Ellicott Creek is located along the west property line of the proposed day camp area; the flood protection diversion channel is located between the day camp area and the Weinberg Campus. The project is located at 2640 North Forest Road in the Town of Amherst, New York.

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Site Plan for Office Building will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a 2 story, 100,000 ± square foot office building to be located in the "College Park" business park located in the northwest corner of Youngs Road and Wehrle Drive. The petitioner proposes to create a separate parcel within the existing parking lot for the office building at 1740 Wehrle Drive that is occupied by Northrup Grumman. Approval will be required for this development since it will not have frontage on a public road. The project is located at 1760 and 1740 Wehrle Drive in the Town of Amherst, New York.
