Project Title: Construction of a snowmobile trail from the Cooper Kiln Trail to Forestdale Road.
Location: Wilmington Wild Forest, Towns of Wilmington and Black Brook, New York.
Project Description: Construction of about 2.6 miles of snowmobile trail from the Cooper Kiln Trail to Forestdale Road. This project was approved (p. 64) in the Wilmington Wild Forest Unit Management Plan (UMP) / Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) January 2005. This project has been constructed in accordance with the NYS DEC's Management Guidance on "Snowmobile Trail Siting, Construction and Maintenance on Forest Preserve Lands in the Adirondack Park" and includes removal of 398 trees.
Any tree cutting will be in compliance with Lands and Forest Policy # 91-2 on Cutting, Removal or Destruction of Trees and Other Vegetation on Forest Preserve lands.
