Negative Declaration

Chenango County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Stockbridge Stone Products Mine will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a new limestone rock quarry on 29.78 acres of land located north of Quarry Road, east off NYS Route 46 and southeast of Munnsville, NY. The applicant proposes to blast, crush and process limestone within 15 acres of the proposed Phase 1 section of the mine on lands owned by Stockbridge Stone Products. No existing residences, businesses or other structures are located nearby. The area will be reclaimed to meadow grasses and a stepped rock bench along the eastern property line. The action is not expected to have any significant adverse impacts on the environment. The project is located on Quarry Road in the Town of Stockbridge, New York.
