Project Description:

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has made a tentative determination to modify State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit NY-0236217 at Burnham Point State Park . Replacement of an existing on-site system to comply with current DEC standards including construction of a replacement outfall to the St. Lawrence River.

Modifications include:

  1. Outfall 001 (2000 gallons per day) - closed and abandoned on March 31, 2013;
  2. Outfall 002 - Replace treatment system and new outfall added with a new design capacity of 6400 gpd;
  3. Inclusion of new monitoring diagram for outfall 002;
  4. Increase monitoring frequency for BOD5, Total Suspended Solids, pH, and Fecal Coliform to twice per year. Sample collection for Total Residual Chlorine is three times per week.
