Project Description:

The applicant proposes to raise an existing dwelling, replace a deck, install stairs and a new septic tank, replace an existing leaching pool and rebuild the dune by placing 100 cubic yards of sand seaward of the dwelling and planting with beach grass. The entire property is located seaward of the Coastal Erosion Hazard Area Line. The project is also located within Tidal Wetlands jurisdiction. The septic tank is proposed at a distance of 90 feet from the tidal wetland boundary, and variance from the 100 foot minimum setback for septic systems has been requested. The project is located at 252 Shore Road, Napeague, Town of East Hampton, Suffolk County, SCTM# 0300-85-01-p/o 42.1.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is not subject to SEQR because it is a Type II action.

SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

Coastal Management:

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Nov 23, 2012.
