Project Description:

National Grid USA is proposing to relocate 11 overhead electric utility poles on Caledonia-Golah Line 213 from the west to the east side of Wheatland Center Rd to improve access and avoid future impacts to wetlands. As proposed, the project invloves approximately 737 sq. ft. of temporary impacts to NYS Freshwater Wetland CA-4 for access and 9,312 sq. ft. of temporary impacts to the regulated adjacent area of CA-4 area for temporary access roads and silt fence. No permanent impacts to CA-4 are anticipated with this project.

Project Description:

The Department proposes to construct an approximately 350 foot long, 4 foot wide fishing access trail made of asphalt millings along the impoundment dam of Birdseye Hollow Lake and install a 400 square foot, seasonal, floating, public fishing dock within the lake; relocate approximately 115 cubic yards of medium stone fill from the equipment access ford downstream of the dam, within Birdseye Hollow Creek, and use it to fill voids at the base of the dam spillway; and place approximately 100 cubic yards of #2 and #3 stone on the equipment access ford to allow small equipment to access the dam for routine maintenance. The work is located within State Regulated Freshwater Wetland, HP-5, and its 100 foot adjacent area at the Birdseye State Forest off County road 96 in the Town of Bradford, Steuben County.
