Project Description:

Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to modify an existing mined land reclamation permit for the mining of bluestone. The modification includes removing 11.5 acres (formerly Phase 2 and 3) from the Life-of-Mine limits, adding 6.9 acres to the Life-of-Mine limits, and adding 5 acres to the Life-of-Mine where the saw shop (previously approved) and access road (adjusted to match exact location) is located. The site has received coverage under the Stormwater SPDES General Permit and a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan is in place. The project site is located approximately 2 miles southeast of the Village of Deposit, 1.1 miles north of NYS Route 17 off Silver Lake Road.

SEQR Lead Agency: NYS Department of Environmental Conservation

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

A cultural resources survey has been completed. Based on information provided in the survey report, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has determined that the proposed activity will have no impact on registered or eligible archaeological sites or historic structures. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
