Proposed Amendment to Freshwater Wetland Maps
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 24 (Freshwater Wetlands Act) of the NYS ECL and 6 NYCRR Part 664 that NYSDEC proposes to amend Suffolk County Freshwater Wetland Map 18 of 39 to include a previously overlooked wetland, Wetland # R-82. Maps showing the proposed revision are available at the clerk's office in the village, town and county where the change is taking place and at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) Office listed below. Comments on the accuracy of the proposed changes may be mailed to the person listed below through November 3, 2012. No activity subject to regulation under the Freshwater Wetlands Act may be initiated without a permit from NYS DEC within the area that is the subject of the proposal (including the 100 foot wetland adjacent area) until the NYS DEC Commissioner has either amended the map or denied the amendment.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has determined that site ID # 130091, known as the 525-535 Burnside Avenue site, may be deleted from the New York State Registry of Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites. This site is located in the Town of Hempstead, within the County of Nassau, and is located at 525-535 Burnside Avenue, Inwood, New York 11096. Comments regarding this action must be submitted no later than November 2, 2012.
