Project Description:

The applicant proposes to renew and modify a permit to operate a transfer station, receiving up to a maximum of 657,000 tons per year of the following combined waste streams: municipal solid waste (MSW); yard waste; construction and demolition debris (C&D); source separated recyclables (SSR); and white metal goods. The permit is being modified to include the C&D and SSR wastes. The total volume of waste transferred will not increase above the amount authorized in prior permits. Processing, to include reducing or altering the volume or the chemical or physical characteristics of solid waste through processes such as, but not limited to separating, crushing, screening, baling or shredding, is authorized for all of these waste streams except C&D. No processing of C&D is permitted, except for the separation of bulk metals with the intention of recycling them; C&D may be received and transferred only. In addition, the permit will be modified to allow the hours of operation to change from 7am to 5pm, seven days a week to 7am to 7pm, seven days a week.
