Positive Declaration
Cortland County - The Cortland County Legislature, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed construction of the Crown City Wind Energy Project may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. Air Energy TCI Inc. proposes to construct the Crown City Wind Farm, a wind-powered electric generation facility consisting of the installation and operation of up to 48 wind turbine generators (WTGs) for the purpose of generating up to 80 Megawatts (MW) of electricity. The proposed project includes 1.6 MW WTGs with a maximum blade height of 492 feet above the ground surface. Additional components include a system of gravel access roads (approximately 20 miles), buried and above ground electrical interconnection lines, an operation and maintenance building, a collection substation, and a ½ mile long 115 KV transmission line. The project is located in the Towns of Homer, Cortlandville, Solon and Truxton in Cortland County.
