The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application from Castleton Paperboard, LLC for a site known as the Fort Orange Paper Company Site, site ID #C442041. This site is located at 1900 River Road in the Village of Castleton-on-Hudson, Rensselaer County. Comments regarding this application must be submitted no later than September 14, 2012. Watervliet Arsenal - Main Manufacturing Area, Watervliet, New York (Albany County)

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has proposed cleanup measures for the remediation of the Watervliet Arsenal - Main Manufacturing Area, Watervliet, New York. This proposal is discussed in detail in NYS DEC's draft Statement of Basis.

Written Comment Period: NYS DEC will accept written comments from the public on the proposed remedy during a 30 calendar day comment period beginning Monday, August 20, 2012. Comments must be submitted no later than Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Written comments can be sent to NYS DEC by e-mail at derweb@gw.dec.state.ny.us (Please include "Comments on Proposed Remedy - Watervliet Arsenal" in the subject line) or mailed directly to:

Meeting Notice

Shandaken SPDES Semi-Annual Meeting

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) is pleased to announce that the next semi-annual public meeting, held per the Shandaken SPDES permit, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at the Windham Town Hall, 371 Route 296, Hensonville NY 12439. NYC DEP and its partners will discuss the progress of several projects in the Schoharie Reservoir watershed followed by a field visit to a nearby stream restoration project.

The meeting is open to the public and public input is welcome.
