Public Notice

On July 24, 2012 the City of Glen Cove, New York, awarded contracts to Winters Bros. Recycling Corp., and Galaxy Recycling Inc., pursuant to Section One Hundred Twenty-W (120-W) of the General Municipal Law for the "City of Glen Cove Transfer Station Operation/Maintenance and Solid Waste Transport, Recycling and Disposal Services". The validity of these contracts or the procedures which led to their award may be hereafter contested only by action, suit or proceeding commenced within sixty days after the date of this notice and only upon the ground or grounds that: (1) such award or procedure was not authorized pursuant to that section, or (2) any of the provisions of that section which should be complied with at the date of this publication have not been substantially complied with, or (3) a conflict of interest can be shown in the manner in which the contract was awarded; or by action, suit or proceeding commenced on the grounds that such contract was awarded in violation of the provisions of the Constitution.

Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Town Board of the Town of Babylon, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Concern for Independent Living Site plan Review, Change of Zone and Minor Subdivision will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the decommissioning and redevelopment of the U. S. Army Reserve Base in North Amityville. The 16 acre parcel will be subdivided into 3 new parcels. Parcel #1 (3.84 acres) will re-use the existing U. S. Army Reserve Center for a Supportive Service Center. Parcel #2 (6.45 acres) will be re-zoned from Residence "B" District to Multiple Residence District, 4 buildings will be constructed providing 48 one bedroom units and 12 two bedroom units. Parcel #3 (5.35 acres) will be dedicated to the Town of Babylon to be incorporated into the adjacent Town park located to the north.

The project is located at 600 Albany Avenue in North Amityville, Town of Babylon, New York.
