Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct 550 feet of stone revetment at the toe of an escarpment along the shoreline, re-grade the slope, plant vegetation, and construct an access stairway. Portions of the proposed structure are seaward of the Coastal Erosion Hazard line and the site contains regulated tidal wetlands. The project is located at 107 Centre Island Road, Centre Island, Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:
