Project is Located:
Project involves repairs to an earth filled masonry arch bridge of the Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern Railroad where it crosses Cincinnati Creek, a class C(T) stream. The arch is 40' wide, approximately 25' high, and 260' in length. Originally covered with wooden timbers in its entirety, the downstream 53' has previously been covered in concrete. MA& N is proposing to repair the stone masonry, place 590 cubic yards of medium fill on the floor and upstream banks, place 65 cubic yards of heavy stone fill at the outlet and construct a new cast-in-place cutoff wall at the beginning of the concrete floor to prevent further erosion. Portions of the bank are washed out and will also be repaired. Approximately 400 cubic yards of materials will be removed from the streambed and placed in an upland location. An existing right-of-way exists which will need to be cleared and grubbed for access to the work site.
