This site is located in the City of Yonkers, within the County of Westchester, and is located at 137-145 Alexander Street, Yonkers, NY 10701. Comments regarding this application must be submitted no later than July 20, 2012. Negative Declaration

Dutchess County - The Village of Rhinebeck Board of Trustees, as Lead Agency, has determined that the proposed Village of Rhinebeck Police Department Building will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a new 2,300 ± square foot police station on a parcel of land immediately adjacent to Village Hall. The Police Department is currently housed in a temporary mobile trailer in the parking lot at Village Hall. Also included in the action is creation of nine new parking spaces and replacement of the existing sanitary sewage disposal system with a new septic disposal system. The project is located at 14 Center Street, Village of Rhinebeck, New York.

Sullivan County - The Town of Thompson, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Zone Change from RR2 to Extractive will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the approval of a change in zone of a 104.539 acre parcel from Rural Residential 2 to Extractive. The property is located on Camp Road, Monticello, New York in the Town of Thompson adjacent to the existing Tetz Mongaup Valley Quarry that has existed for over 50 years. The proposed property of the rezone contains valuable aggregate resources. Such an amendment to the Town of Thompson Zoning Map will protect the important aggregate stone for future use as a construction aggregate.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Westchester County - The Town of New Castle Zoning Board of Appeals, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Upper Westchester Muslim Society Masjid and Islamic Center. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. at the New Castle Town Hall Assembly Room, 200 South Greeley Avenue, Chappaqua, New York 10514. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until not less than ten (10) days following the close of the public hearing on the Draft EIS. Comments on the Draft EIS may be submitted to the attention of the Secretary to the New Castle Zoning Board of Appeals, Town of New Castle, 200 South Greeley Avenue, Chappaqua, New York 10514 or submitted via e-mail at UWMSDEIS@town.new-castle.ny.us.

The proposed action involves the approval of permits necessary to authorize the demolition of an existing single-family dwelling and accessory buildings and the construction and use of a 24,690 square foot building as a place of worship (two stories plus a mezzanine level), including among other components a prayer hall, a religious school composed of 17 classrooms, a library and recreational facilities, and a 170 space parking lot. Driveway access to the site is proposed from a location along the Pines Bridge Road frontage of the subject site approximately opposite Hoag Cross Road.

The project is located at 130 Pines Bridge Road, Town of New Castle, Westchester County on an 8.33 acre site on the southerly side of Pines Bridge Road (County Route 1323) approximately 2,100 feet southwest of the Taconic State Parkway southbound access ramp. It is in the R-2A Zoning District as well as the Environmental Protection Overlay District.
