Project Description:
The applicant proposes development of approximately 20 acres for a horse-breeding farm including construction of a 91-foot by 200-foot horse barn, an 84-foot by 200-foot exercise area, a 50-foot by 45-foot mare barn, a three-bay equipment shed, and associated access drives, parking, and stormwater management features. Approximately 4.5 acres were previously cleared; 4.8 acres of additional woodland is proposed to be cleared. The existing residence and a 20-foot by 30-foot barn will remain. The site contains potential wintering and/or migratory habitat for the northern cricket frog (Acris crepitans), a NYS-listed Threatened species. Impacts are proposed to be mitigated by placement of three areas of the site, totaling 16.2 acres, into permanent conservation easement to be held by the Town of Warwick as grantee.
