The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application from Angelica Textile Services, Inc. for a site known as the Former American Hide and Leather/Haight and Company Tannery, site ID #C546055. This site is located in the Village of Ballston Spa, within the County of Saratoga, and is located at 125 Bath Street. Comments regarding this application must be submitted no later than July 9, 2012. Project Description: The action involves conversion of a one-story 16 foot by 20 foot storage building to a hunting and fishing cabin, located on Stock Lane, a private road, on a 0.23 acre parcel. The proposal includes structural additions which will result in a total footprint of 700 ± square feet, including enclosed porches and stairs. A waterless, composting toilet and graywater wastewater treatment system are proposed. The project site is located entirely within one-eighth mile of State land designated "Wilderness," a critical environmental area, and contains wetlands.

Project Description: The action involves construction within the Schroon River recreational river area of a 400 square foot hunting and fishing cabin with attached 240 square foot open deck. A chemical toilet and small gray-water system are proposed.
Negative Declaration
Essex County - The New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Culvert C120308 Repair / Replace will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the replacement of large culvert C120308 which carries the Adirondack Railroad over the McKenzie Brook. It is proposed under this project to remove the existing superstructure and install a precast concrete box culvert between the existing severely deteriorated concrete abutments. The existing concrete abutments will remain in place. Ballast will be placed above the new box culvert and the original wooden ties, steel track, and safety fence will be reset on the new ballast. The existing stream channel will be re-graded to provide a smooth stream profile throughout the site. The intent of the proposed work is to restore the structural integrity of the subject crossing. The project is located at Mile Post 8.26 of the Adirondack Railroad, in the Town of North Elba, New York.

Saratoga County - The Town of Moreau Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Water District No.1, Extension No.3 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the establishment of Water District No.1, Extension No.3. The project is located along Sisson Road, Moreau Rec Park Road, Hatchery Road and Fortsville Road in the Town of Moreau, New York.

Warren County - The New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Culvert C170011 Repair / Replace will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the repair of large culvert C170011 which carries State Route 9N over an unnamed tributary to Lake George. This culvert is comprised of a 6.0 foot x 11.5 foot brick and masonry arch extended on the inlet side with a 6.0 foot corrugated metal pipe (CMP). It is proposed under this project to line the entire length of the culvert with an HDPE pipe liner. A concrete bulkhead with a form-lined exterior façade to match the existing laid-up stone retaining wall will be installed at the outlet of the culvert. The intent of the proposed work is to restore the structural integrity of the existing culvert. The project is located on Route 9N at Reference Marker 9N-1702-1147 in the Town of Lake George, New York.
