Project Description:

The applicant proposes to install eight 36" diameter culverts to improve the hydaulic flow of water from one side of the road to the other to prevent overtopping during higher flow periods. Approximately 1300 square feet of wetland will be impacted by road and shoulder widening and installation of riprap around the culvert ends. As mitigation for wetland impacts, the applicant will plant native species and remove garbage from along the roadway embankment and the edge of the wetland.

The applicant proposes to stabilize/restore three sections of Ellicott Creek within Fox Valley Country Club for a total length of approximately 370 feet. Work will include installation of riprap, bank grading, replacement of retaining wall block as necessary, and vegetation restoration and additional plantings for habitat improvement.

Project Description:

The proposed action involves the excavation of 3 to 6 inches of soil within a large outdoor shooting range to remove lead shot from the soil and the creation of a pond measuring about 125 ft by 25 ft. The lead removal area and pond are located in the adjacent area of NYS Wetland TE-9. Upon completion of the project, the soil will be replaced and disturbed areas will be revegetated. The Tonawanda Sportsman's Club is located on Killian Road in the Town of Pendleton. The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application and is seeking public comment prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.
