Positive Declaration
Suffolk County - The Town of Brookhaven Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Route 25A - Mount Sinai to Wading River Land Use Plan may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the adoption of the proposed Route 25A - Mount Sinai to Wading River Land Use Plan. The proposed Land Use Plan will apply recommendations made by residents, business owners, community organizations, local leaders and Town of Brookhaven Planning staff during the visioning process to the areas included in the study area. The Land Use Plan details strategies, zoning recommendations and Town Code amendments that will guide future growth, preserve and enhance the individual character of each hamlet, and address issues of concern common to the corridor as a whole. Hamlet Center and Transition Overlay Districts are proposed throughout the Corridor which is anticipated to curb future sprawl and revitalize existing downtown areas. The project is located on Route 25A - Mount Sinai to Wading River in the Town of Brookhaven, New York.
