The proposed action is control or eradication of Eurasian Watermilfoil (EWM) by the use of the aquatic herbicide Renovate 3. Application of Renovate would be to treat the main body of Beaver Lake (15.45 acres) which was surveyed to contain EWM. Beaver Lake is a Class II NYS Wetland (JO-2) which is used for limited contact recreation along the shoreline as well for fishing and boating. Renovate is a select herbicide that has no effect to non-invasive submerged aquatic vegetation. The proposed project site is located at 5124 Pleasant Valley Road in Wethersfield, Wyoming County. Beaver Lake adjoins Faun Lake and is 27 acres in size. The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application and is seeking public comment prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.
