Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct a subsuface sewage disposal system (SSDS) with a design capacity of 4,446 gallons per day to service an existing mobile home park located off of Beekman Road. This new SSDS is needed to augment the existing SSDS with a design capacity of 7,281 gallons per day in order to bring the facility into compliance.

The proposed project will result in two individual SSDSs to meet wastewater needs. These SSDSs will have a total design capacity of 11,727 gallons per day and will be authorized under the Department's Private/ Commercial/ Institutional State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (P/C/I SPDES). All comments should refer to this application by application number listed above and SPDES# NY 027 1101.

Project Description:

NYSDEC has prepared a modification of the SPDES permit for Brittany Terrace, Inc. This modification is undertaken pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 750-1.18 to reflect a change in treatment process and an increase in treatment capacity. The new Brittany Terrace WWTP increases the designed treatment capacity of sanitary wastewater from 9,000 gpd to 10,000 gpd. The new treatment process consists of a 5,000 gallon equalization tank, a 10,000 gpd activated sludge treatment system that includes an aeration basin, a clarifiers, a phosphorus removal tank, a multi-media filtration system, followed by chlorination/dechlorination and post aeration. The treated effluent discharges to H-89-12-P234-1b, which is a Class "C" sub tributary of Beaver Dam Lake and the Moodna Creek.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to disturb a portion of the 100 foot adjacent area of Freshwater Wetland LC-55 (Class II) in conjunction with the construction of a new 7,790 square foot showroom and various improvements to an existing automobile dealership, Meadowland GM Showroom, on a 7.2 acre parcel. The total area of disturbance to the adjacent area is approximately 0.6 acre; no disturbance within the wetland is proposed. The majority of proposed work (0.5 acre), including construction of new stormwater basins, paved areas, fill and grading will occur within previously disturbed areas; approximately 0.1 acre of new disturbance within the adjacent area is proposed for construction of stormwater facilities, gravel parking and wetland plantings. Additionally, 0.5 acre of the adjacent area of the wetland will be improved with planting of native wetland vegetation and stormwater enhancements. The project is located west of the intersection of Route 6 and Old Route 6.
