Positive Declaration and Public Scoping
Cortland County - The New York State University Construction Fund, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed State University of New York (SUNY) Cortland Construction of a Student Life Center may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. Written comments on the draft scope will be accepted by the contact person listed below until 5:00 p.m. on March 16, 2012. A public scoping session will be held on March 1, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jacobus Lounge (first floor) in Brockway Hall on the SUNY Cortland Campus. The action involves the construction of a 2 story, 146,724 gross square foot building on a 8.5 acre project site on the SUNY Cortland Campus.Vehicular access will be along Pashley Drive and an existing service road along the northern portion of the site. Two existing basketball courts and two existing tennis courts will be removed to allow for additional parking spaces; existing parking along Pashley Drive will be eliminated. Pavement, lawn and landscaping are proposed to surround the Student Life Center. The project is located on the north west intersection of Pashley Drive and Stratton Drive on the SUNY Cortland Campus in the City of Cortland, New York.
