Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct one 20 inch x 10 inch diameter public water supply well to a depth of 500 feet and having a pump capacity of 1388 gallons per minute. The project is located at the Daniel Webster Drive well field, South Setauket, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to conduct temporary dewatering through the use of a wellpoint system to facilitate the construction of a 100 foot gravity sanitary sewer pipe and associated structures. The dewatering is proposed to be conducted over a 14-day period with a maximum daily pumpage of 288,022 gallons. The water is proposed to be treated prior to being discharged to Sumpawam Creek, a NYSDEC regulated freshwater wetland. The proposed project is located at 75 Cedar Street in the Village of Babylon in Suffolk County, SCTM# 102-02-22.2 & 80.3.
