ENB - Region 6 Notices 2/8/2012

Negative Declaration

Herkimer County - The New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Route 51/Otsego Street Pavement Rehabilitation Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal to correct identified pavement deficiencies using an effective pavement treatment strategy to prevent further degradation of pavement condition, and maintain a structurally sound pavement over an expected service life of 10 years. There is minimal ground disturbance work associated with this project. The proposed work will consist of the rehabilitation of 1.1 miles of pavement with spot repairs, replacement of the existing traffic signal at West Street/Weber Ave. and Otsego Street and the improvement of pedestrian accommodations including new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramps. The curb radius at the intersection of Frederick Street and Otsego Street will be widened and the NRE stone masonry bridge over Steele Creek will be repointed where there are voided joints between the stone blocks of the superstructure. The project is located in the Village of Ilion, New York.
