Project Description:

The Department has prepared a Draft Permit and has made a tentative determination to approve this application for a modification of a State Facility Permit to permanently retire/disable a boiler with a design capacity of 63.3 MMbtu/hr heat input. The boiler is proposed to be replaced with fifty exempt heating and hot water boilers with a maximum heat input of 2 MMbtu/hr. These exempt boiler/heaters will be located in various Campus buildings, will burn only natural gas fuel, and will use Low-NOx burners to control emissions. The installation of two new exempt emergency generators (150 kW each, natural gas fuel only) is also proposed. The facility is located at 223 Shore Hill Road in Old Westbury, Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County.
