ENB - Region 7 Notices 1/18/2012

Positive Declaration

Madison County - The Town of Cazenovia Town Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed 2012 Application (Treatment) of Herbicide Renovate® OTF to Portions of Cazenovia Lake may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves a 2012 treatment of Cazenovia Lake through the application of the herbicide "Renovate®" to major portions of Cazenovia Lake (northern, central and southern portions and spot treatments lake-wide). Approximately 256 + acres will be treated. The treatment is designed to address the continued presence of the invasive aquatic plant species Eurasian Watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum) which had dominated the Lake surface area in recent years. The project is located in Cazenovia Lake, 1,164+ surface acres in the Town of Cazenovia, New York.
