ENB - Region 6 Notices 1/18/2012
Jefferson County - The Lyme Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Town of Lyme Comprehensive Plan - 2011 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves an update of the Town's 1999 Comprehensive Plan with a new planning process initiated in the fall of 2008. The Draft was completed in 2010, with Town Wind Survey related amendments completed in 2011.
The Plan process included an extensive public input phase with a community input survey, issue exercise, public drop-in events, vision public meeting and public hearings. It also included a Town-wide inventory with chapters on historic and demographic trends, transportation and community facilities, environment and natural resources, structures, land use and character, and future land use recommendations. Over twelve maps were developed documenting the above components of each chapter. The recommendation chapter includes a Town-wide Vision Statement, series of goals to achieve the vision, strategies to achieve the goals, and recommended actions as community based starting points. Lastly, a series of considerations were developed to enhance potential project reviews where applicable. They included overall town project considerations, residential project considerations, commercial project considerations, alternative energy considerations, and zoning considerations.
The project is located throughout the Town of Lyme, New York.
