ENB - Region 3 Notices 1/4/2012
Negative Declaration
Ulster County - The New York State Bridge Authority, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Toll Increase will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal by the New York State Bridge Authority (NYSBA) to implement a general toll increase on NYSBA's five vehicular bridges. The bridges are the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, the Mid-Hudson Bridge, the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge and the Bear Mountain Bridge. Adoption of the Toll Schedule constitutes "routine or continuing agency administration", a Type II action not subject to review under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). However, NYSBA has decided to review the action as if it were subject to SEQRA to provide members of the agency and the public with information on any potential impacts. No land disturbance is proposed as part of the action.
The project is located at the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, the Mid-Hudson Bridge, the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge and the Bear Mountain Bridge all in New York State.
