Suffolk County - The Incorporated Village of Port Jefferson Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Tree Clearing and Grading Application will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the clearing and grading associated with the construction of a 2 story deck 11 feet x 15 feet 2 inches; a 2 story addition (approximately 15 feet 6 inches x 23 feet 9 inches); a drywall to the east of the existing home and porch and a retaining wall to be located south of the proposed addition in the RBI-2 Zoning District. Four trees will be cleared and approximately 19% of the lot will be cleared to facilitate the existing and new development. The site is steeply sloped and in some areas maintain slopes of 45% or greater. The existing and proposed development is located within the most level portion of the site necessitating any addition to extend into steeper areas. The proposed development is to be situated onsite to minimize disturbance and to avoid excessively steep slopes. The project design incorporates erosion control measures to address the potential for erosion and offsite runoff. The project is located at 636 Main Street in the Village of Port Jefferson, New York.
