Positive Declaration and Public Scoping

Suffolk County - The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Stony Brook University Medical Center Medical Facilities and Parking Project may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on December 15, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Lecture Hall 6, Health Sciences Center - Level 3, Stony Brook University Medical Center, 100 Nicolls Road, Stony Brook, NY. The action involves DASNY's authorization of the expenditure of tax-exempt bond proceeds to be used to finance the design and construction of portions of the following: a Medical and Research Translation Building; a patient Bed Tower; a Medical Office Building; related infrastructure improvements; new parking facilities including an approximately 1,908 space, 5 level parking garage; the 49 space expansion of an existing surface parking lot; a 118 space valet parking lot; a 551 space employee parking lot; improvements to existing campus roadways; and construction of new roadways that connect project elements on the campus. Additional funding for the various project elements would come from the State University Construction Fund, SUNY 2020 Challenge Grant, Stony Brook University Medical Center operating funds and private donations. The project is located on the Stony Brook University Medical Center campus, at 100 Nicolls Road in Stony Brook, Town of Brookhaven, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Nassau County - The Planning Board of the Incorporated Village of Lake Success, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Change of Use and Site Plan Modification/Parking Expansion for Winthrop Management, LP. A copy of the Final EIS is available for public review at the Incorporated Village of Lake Success, 318 Lakeville Road, Lake Success, NY 11020, and on the Village's website at: http://villageoflakesuccess.com/index1.html.

The action involves an application from Winthrop Management, LP for the modification of a previously-approved site plan for the "unlandbanking," reconfiguration and construction of additional parking and the modification of site driveways, on the 93.51 acre property. Winthrop Management, LP has also requested the modification of a prior approval (2002) from the Village Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Lake Success (Board of Trustees) that limits the amount of existing building square footage that can be used for office purposes to 50 percent, with the remaining 50 percent permitted to be used for telecommunications, studios, and/or warehouse distribution space, as Winthrop Management, LP is seeking to convert currently vacant space within the existing building to medical/office space and general office space. Area variances are required from the Incorporated Village of Lake Success Board of Appeals (number of parking spaces, lot coverage and height for a required parking garage). The project is located at 1111 Marcus Avenue in the Village of Lake Success, Town of North Hempstead, New York.
