Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Planning Board of the Town of Southampton, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Lot Line Modification Map of Swords & Roselli Family LTD Partnership will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves three lots and proposes to result in two lots where proposes Lot 1, which contains an area of 73,723 square feet prior to the transfer, to transfer 14,599 square feet to Lot 3, which contains 50,714 prior to the transfer, which as a result is shown as Parcel "A," and proposes Lot 2, which contains an area of 83,957 square feet prior to the transfer, to transfer 12,386 square feet also to Lot 3, which again is shown as Parcel "A" as a result of the transfer, and proposes the abandonment of the existing 20 foot right of way to be incorporated in the Parcel "A," therefore resulting in both Lot 1 and 2 being reduced in size and merged to create Parcel "B," having a total area of 130,680 square feet, and Parcel "A" having a total area of 77,698 square feet, which as a result of the transfer is comprised of Lot 3 and the transferred portions of both Lot 1 and 2, with the abandoned right of way; all are proposed to utilize the existing 25 foot Wide Right of way, shown as an asphalt driveway, and results in only Parcel "B" fronting on Saggs Pond, and results in Lot 3 becoming more conforming as it is being increased in size. The project is located in the R-120 Zoning District and within the NYS Archeologically Sensitive Areas and the Agricultural Overlay District, two of the three properties are flagged on the Town's wetlands inventory, as they front on Sagg Pond, with all three properties located west of Highland Terrace, located at 217 Highland Terrace, 214 Private Right of Way and 170 Private Right of Way, within the hamlet of Bridgehampton, Town of Southampton, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Suffolk County - The Town of Brookhaven Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Wal-Mart at East Patchogue. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on January 9, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the Town of Brookhaven Town Hall, One Independence Hill, Farmingville, NY 11738. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until January 19, 2012. The Draft EIS is available for the Town of Brookhaven Division of Environmental Protection, the Town of Brookhaven Town Hall and the Patchogue-Medford Library, 40 East Main Street Patchogue, NY. The Draft EIS is also available on line at: http://www.brookhaven.org/Departments/PlanningEnvironment/PlanningEnvironmentLandManagement.aspx.

The action involves the development of a 98,000 square foot Wal-Mart store and 900 square foot office building on an approximately 16.64 acre parcel. In developing the site, approximately 11.6 acres of existing vegetation would need to be cleared. The project is located at the northeast corner of Hospital Road and the North Service Road of Sunrise Highway (NYS Route 27) in East Patchogue, Town of Brookhaven, New York.
