Tioga County - The Village of Newark Valley, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Critical Environmental Area Designation for Well Head Protection will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the Critical Environmental Area (CEA) designation for the protection of the Wellhead area for the water system of the Village of Newark Valley. The project is located in the Village of Newark Valley, New York.

Tompkins County - The Town of Ithaca Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Town of Ithaca Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the adoption of the Town of Ithaca Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan. The Plan includes a discussion of farming in the Town, and inventory of various agricultural resources, a description of other Town and County plans and regulations that impact farming, and Town agricultural lands to be protected. The Plan outlines specific goals, recommendations, and implementation steps that will help to support and encourage farming in the Town. The project is located throughout the Town of Ithaca, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing
Tompkins County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Ithaca Dredging Project. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on December 12, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. at the Ithaca Common Council Chambers, Ithaca City Hall, 108 Green Street, 3rd Floor, Ithaca, NY. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until December 16, 2011. The Draft EIS is available at the following locations: City of Ithaca Planning Department, 108 Green St. Ithaca, NY; the NYS DEC - Region 7 Office, 1285 Fisher Avenue, Cortland NY and on line at: www.ecologicllc.com/ithacadredging.html.
The action involves the planning, development and maintenance of a sediment management basin in relation to the maintenance dredging of portions of the Cayuga Inlet and Cacadilla Creek. The NYS Canal Corporation currently holds a valid permit to perform maintenance dredging. This particular action is to address the sediment disposal options including mitigation measures. An area owned by the City of Ithaca named the Southwest Site is identified as the preferred location for the facility and is located west off Elmira Road behind the Walmart and Lowes stores.
