Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing
Orange County - The Town of Wawayanda Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Brookfield Resource Management Facility. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on December 14, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town of Wawayanda Town Hall, 80 Ridgebury Hill Road, Slate Hill, NY. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted by the contact listed below until 10 days after the close of the public hearing. Copies of the Draft EIS are available for review from the contact person listed below and on line at: www.alpineec.com.
The action involves the construction of a vertically integrated recycling facility including the collection, reduction, separation, processing, and shipment of metals, plastics, glass, minerals, fiber, cardboard, paper and other recyclables. The facilities proposed on site will include an office building, truck and equipment repair facilities, a recyclable pre-processing building, non-ferrous metal and recyclables receiving facilities, recyclable processing and packaging equipment and a structure devoted to separating non-ferrous metals and unrecyclable materials. Non recyclable materials which cannot be processed in cost efficient manner utilizing existing technology will be disposed of at sanitary landfill.
The project is located on 48.2 acres on the north side of Dolsontown Road in the Town of Wawayanda, New York. The site is located in the Town's MC-1 zone. Access to the site is via Dolsontown Road.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS
Westchester County - The Town of Yorktown Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Croton Overlook Corporation. The Final EIS is available from the Town Clerk's Office, Planning Department Office, John C. Hart Memorial Library and on line at: http://www.yorktownny.org/townclerk/croton-overlook-feis.
The action involves an application which pertains to certain real property comprised of 62.76 acres. The applicant, Croton Overlook is seeking a zone change to RSP-1 to construct a 72 lot subdivision, which includes 35 buildings, containing a total of 70 residential fee simple duplex units for active adult housing, and including one open space lot, consisting of a protected land preservation parcel of approximately 44 acres. The project is located east of the intersection of NYS Routes 134 and 100 in the Town of Yorktown, New York.
