Notice of Acceptance of Draft GEIS and Public Hearing

Niagara County - The Town of Niagara, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Niagara Airport Commercial Park. Written comments on the Draft GEIS will be accepted until November 17, 2011. The Draft GEIS is available at the Town of Niagara Town Hall, 7105 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, New York 14305 and on line at: www.townofniagara.com.

The action involves a Conceptual Site Plan approval for the proposed Niagara Airport Commercial Park. Conceptual Site Plan approval is sought from the Town of Niagara in order to pursue shovel ready certification for development as a "High Technology Manufacturing" site under the Build Now - NY program. The approximately 216 acre project site is owned SGL Equities, LLC. The Project Site is primarily comprised of agricultural fields and vacant land.

A Conceptual Site Plan has been developed for the purposes of assessing impacts and establishing thresholds for development under this generic environmental impact statement. The development consists of a total build out of 850,000 square feet of high-tech manufacturing space. During the first phase of the development, a 250,000 square foot building would be constructed, with the remaining 600,000 square foot at full build-out. For the purposes of site planning and for environmental assessment, the conceptual layout considers five buildings of 50,000 square feet, 100,000 square feet, 200,000 square feet, and two of 250,000 square feet. It is proposed that the existing individual parcels be combined and developed as a single property.

The project is generally bounded by Haseley Drive on the west, Packard Road/Lockport Road on the north, Tuscarora Road on the east and the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station and Niagara Falls International Airport on the east and south in the Town of Niagara, New York.

Contact: Charles E. Haseley, Town of Niagara, 7105 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14305, Phone: (716) 297-2150, E-mail: chaseley@townofniagara.com.
