Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - Suffolk County, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Acquisition of Land for Open Spaces Preservation Purposes known as the North Fork Preserve Property will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the acquisition for open space preservation purposes of 126.67 ± acres for passive recreation and 175.50 ± acres for active recreation. The project is located north of Sound Avenue, south of Sound Shore Road, 2,500 feet west of Manor Lane in the Hamlet of Northville, Town of Riverhead, New York.

Suffolk County - Suffolk County, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Acquisition of Land by both Suffolk County and the Town of Southampton for Open Spaces Preservation Purposes known as the Links at East Quogue will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the acquisition for open space preservation purposes of 165.67 ± acres for active recreation. The project is located South of Sunrise Highway (State Road 27),east of Lewis Road and north of Old Country Road in the Hamlet of East Quogue, Town of Southampton New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Nassau County - The Town Board of the Town of Oyster Bay, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Cantiague Commons Senior Housing Community. The Final EIS is available at the Hicksville Public library, 169 Jerusalem Ave, Hicksville; Office of the Town Clerk, Oyster Bay Town Hall, Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay and on line at: http://engineering.np·npv.comIcantiaguecommonslfeislfeis.htm.

The action involves the adoption by the Town Board of a new zoning district, Planned Unit Development/Residence 25 (PUD/R 25); petition to the Town Board by the applicant for a Change of Zone and Site Plan Approval under the new PUD/R 25 zoning district, to allow the development of a 390 unit senior housing community, and closure of the asphalt plant, concrete recycling and other commercial/industrial operations on the 15.18 acre property; and conveyance of the 2.27 acre property situated at 50 Engel Street to the ownership of the Town of Oyster Bay and closure of the asphalt plant and other commercial/industrial operations at that location.

The proposed Cantiague Commons development consists of five buildings of four stories in height, one of which would contain 78 residential units and the remaining four each containing 42 units; and two buildings of five stories in height, each containing 72 units. The ground floor of each building would be open, providing grade-level parking, with additional parking below grade beneath the buildings and at grade outside the building footprints; a total of 884 parking stalls are proposed.

Each proposed residential unit would contain 1,270 square feet of floor area, with two bedrooms. A community building also is proposed, which would have 13,225 square feet of floor area, along with other recreational facilities (including a swimming pool, outdoor seating areas, and bocce courts).

The project is located on West John Street in Hicksville, Town of Oyster Bay, New York.
