The applicant proposes to conduct wellpoint dewatering of groundwater at a rate of up to 2.25 million gallons per day in order to prevent hydrostatic uplift pressure while the primary and secondary digester tanks and sludge storage tanks are emptied, cleaned, and rehabilitated. The water will be pumped through a settling tank before discharging into an existing storm drain that eventually empties into the Mill River. The project will result in the filling of approximately 125 square feet of the tidal wetland zone classified as coastal shoals, bars and flats.
