Tompkins County - The Town of Ithaca, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Cayuga Medical Center Surgical Services Addition will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a three story (48 foot height) addition with 13,900 square feet of floor area, on a footprint of 4,400 square feet, to be located in an area that is currently a landscaped plaza on the west (front) side of the hospital. Seventeen (17) small Japanese Lilac trees will be removed at the project site. The addition is part of a larger project that also includes renovation of 12,600 square feet of existing space inside the hospital.
The project will also include two new driveways that encroach over existing landscape areas, adding 1,000 ± square feet of new impervious surface, to provide improved access for firefighting apparatus. Five disease-resistant Elm trees will replace four existing shade trees that will be removed. The project is located 101 Harris B. Dates Drive in the Town of Ithaca, New York.

Madison County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Parker Excavating and Gravel Co., Inc. - Rathbun Pit will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the operation of a gravel mine on 46.4 acres within a 255 acre parcel of land owned by Ralph Rathbun. Reclamation will be for the purpose of returning the land to agricultural production. The project is located 720 Beaver Creek Road (County Road 99) west of State Route 8 in the Town of Brookfield, New York.
